What should my budget be for turnkey ready furnishing and decorating?

Since every project (and client!) is unique, budgets can vary depending on many factors: your needs, size of the space(s), desired style, etc. This is why it is important to fill out our Questionnaire in order for us to quote your project for you. However, that being said, below is a breakdown of minimum budgets required for different sizes homes & condos to help give you an idea of what to expect for our Turnkey Ready services.

1 bedroom: around $40,000 USD or $800,000 MXN.

2 bedroom: around $50,000 USD or $1,000,000 MXN.

3 bedroom: around $60,000 USD or $1,200,000 MXN.

What do the minimum budget estimations include?

The minimum budgets take into consideration all costs of furniture, decor, window treatments, and some household items (i.e. towels, sheets, kitchen utensils, etc.).

They do not include design fees.

What are your design fees? How do you charge?

Much like project budgets, design fees can vary depending on your needs and the scope of your project. We charge separate fees for Phase I and Phase II (see our Process page to understand the phases of a project).

Phase I: We choose to work with a flat fee for the creative phase (Phase I) so that costs are as upfront and transparent as possible. Our flat fees are based on the amount of time it takes us to complete the project. Should the scope of work change after the contract has been signed and initial deposit has been received, we will send additional invoices as needed and charge on an hourly basis. 

Phase II: We charge a % markup on all items purchased through us in Phase II. There are three types of markups: retail, custom manufacturing, and electronics.

What are your timelines?

Timelines depend on many factors including: size of project, ratio of custom furniture vs retail, timelines from providers, feedback throughout creative phase, etc. Specific timelines are calculated on a per project basis once full project details have been shared and Phase I is completed.


Why should I hire Interiors Tulum?

There are so many reasons! 

  1. We have extensive experience working with hardy and durable materials that withstand harsh tropical climates. This is especially important when designing for hotels or vacation homes, and apply to non-tropical climates as well.

  5. We specialize in the upscale, boho chic style that Tulum is so famous for, and love the spirit of simplicity, nature, spirituality, and (let´s be honest) sexyness! Using natural materials, fibers, and textures is at the heart of what we do, and we know a lot about different materials and how to apply them successfully into a home.

What services do you offer?

Currently we offer 2 services: 

  1. Design Only (see Phase I of our Process), and

  2. Full Service Turnkey Ready (see Phase I & Phase II of our Process).

I don´t live in Tulum, can we still work together?

Yes! There are 2 ways that we can work together:

  1. If you own a property or development in Tulum (or surrounding area) but don´t live here:

    1. We can create a conceptual design for you (re: Phase I) and can include 3D renderings so that you can source and implement the design at your own pace and with your own providers.

    2. We can create the conceptual design and project manage everything for you without you having to be here! This would fall under full service design (Phase I and Phase II- see our Process page).

  2. If you own a property or development outside of Tulum (or surrounding area) and don´t live here:

    1. We can create a conceptual design for you (re: Phase I) and can include 3D renderings so that you can source and implement the design at your own pace and with your own providers, wherever you are in the world! 

    2. We can create the conceptual design and ship all furniture to you wherever you are in the world.

Do you offer 3D renderings?

Yes, we include photorealistic 3D renderings in all of our projects. We´ve found that it really helps you make sure that you are 100% satisfied with what you are signing off on before orders are placed and investments begin. It also serves as really great marketing material for social media, brochures, websites, and more.

We also offer other visualization tools such as VR, Panoramas and video walk-throughs for developers who are interested in showing off their properties on a whole new level!
